Elizabeth (Liz) is an associate in Lawrences’ Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on estate litigation, corporate/commercial litigation, employment, and costs assessments.
Liz joined Lawrences as a summer student in 2023 after her first year of legal studies at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. Thereafter, she worked at Lawrences during each school term and the summer after her second year of law school. Her third year placement and articles were also at Lawrences.
During law school, Liz volunteered with the Black Class Action Secretariat, Ecojustice Canada, and the Indigenous Youth-Centered Justice Project, assisting with legal research. Liz also competed in the Workly Law Moot related to employment law, and the McCarthy Tétrault Cup, a class actions moot.
Liz has helped to write two legal articles that have been published in the Advocates’ Quarterly, “Girao Agreements – Are They the New Gold Standard in Trial Practice?” (Volume 55, Issue 1, September 2024) and “To Object or Not Object in a Costs Assessment, That Is the Question” (Volume 56, Number 3, March 2026).
