Tejpaul Grewal is an associate in Lawrences’ Real Estate Group.  His practice is focused on the acquisition, financing and sale of commercial and residential properties throughout Ontario.  Tejpaul  has extensive experience with family and estate conveyancing, and completing transfers and refinances pursuant to separation agreements and the administration of Estates and Estate Plans.  Tejpaul also has considerable experience in regard to mortgage enforcement, construction liens and other secured transactions.

Tejpaul also assists in the firm’s extensive condominium development and governance practice.  He has also guided both Landlords and Tenants in the negotiation, drafting, interpretation and enforcement of commercial and industrial leases.  Tejpaul prides himself on ensuring that his clients understand the nature of their obligations prior to signing a Lease. He believes that every client deserves a high level of service and makes himself available to answer any questions his clients may have in a timely manner.

Prior to joining Lawrences, Tejpaul practiced real estate and wills and estate planning with a mid-sized firm in Toronto.

Representative Work

  • Routinely acts for Buyers and Sellers of commercial, industrial and residential properties, including single family dwellings, duplexes and multi-plexes, condominiums, cottages, vacant land and commercial, industrial and retail properties, including the successful resolution of complex title deficiencies and transaction closing problems;
  • Acts for Borrowers and Lenders on mortgages and other security for commercial and residential properties, including the enforcement of such security
  • Acted for a commercial landlord in helping exercise his rights under a lease and successfully distrain against the goods of the defaulting tenant.
  • Assisted a church client with securing financing from a credit union whereby ten members of the church required separate independent legal advice. The transaction was closed on-time notwithstanding the voluminous instructions provided by the lender.
