Lawyers are bound by solicitor-client privilege and must keep client information confidential. Lawyers cannot release information about their clients to the client’s family members without express approval of the client or without a court order or statutory authority.
If the family member is an Attorney for Property for the parent and there are no restrictions in the Power of Attorney, the lawyer can deliver the Will or a copy of the will to the Attorney for Property.
