FAQs

There is a construction lien registered against my property from work that was done a long time ago. Can I get it removed?

Yes. If the lien was only preserved and not perfected, you can apply to the Land Registry to have the lien discharged and removed. If the lien has been perfected, but the action has not been set down for trial within two years of issuing the Statement of Claim, the court action will be dismissed. Accordingly, you can seek an Order from the court to discharge the lien and this can later be registered with the Land Registry Office.
